Animal Care & Customer Assistant

This role is offered as a part of the government's Kickstarter Scheme, meaning that all applicants must be aged between 18 - 24 and receive universal credit.

Role Overview

The role of Animal Care and Customer Assistant allows the successful applicant to expand their knowledge in a variety of different areas. This role will see the individual helping with caring for over 20 birds of prey, assisting with marketing efforts, helping at evening events and customer care (over the phone, email and also in a face to face setting). This will allow the applicant to develop a multitude of skills whilst working within a very small team environment. 

Main Duties

  • Assisting with the daily care of the bird of prey collection, including cleaning and feeding. 

  • Assisting with general maintenance, building projects and tidying around the site. 

  • Assisting with training sessions, flying demonstrations, experience sessions and external events and being trained by a senior member of staff in positive reinforcement training. 

  • Supporting our mission in creating amazing visitor experiences through great customer service and professional visitor engagement; this will mean duties such as; answering questions from the visiting public about the birds or giving directions around the site and speaking with guests on the telephone. 

  • Other assistant duties may include taking experience day bookings and payments, keeping records up to date along with learning to process vouchers and confirming bookings along with helping with marketing efforts (e.g. creating social media posts, direct marketing). 

  • Assisting at external evening events.

Working Hours 

The kickstarter scheme is for 25 per week, this will be split up usually over 4 days a week (0900 - 1600, with a 45 minute unpaid break per day as a guide, but may change with business needs).

Pay

This role will pay minimum wage for your age.
